How many cooling methods do you know about mechanical seals?

Rinse-type cooling: When the sealing medium temperature is 〇 8 〇 t, usually the purchase of mechanical seals is flush type cooling. The inlet of the flushing liquid is aligned with the friction surface. The purpose of the flushed mechanical seal is to keep the temperature of the friction surface within a certain range and to prevent the accumulation of impurities near the sealing end face. This is a common cooling method, which can be divided into two types: self-rinsing and external flushing.

Internal body flushing is based on the sealed media as a flushing fluid. General pump purchases are available for mechanical seals. A small part of the liquid is drawn from the outlet of the pump, flushing the frictional end face directly, and then flowing into the pump cavity. When transporting high temperature or granular media, a cooler or filter can be added to the line between the pump outlet and flush inlet.

External flushing is a separate flushing system for flushing and cooling. Mostly used for sealing high temperature or granular media, but its structure is more complicated.

Quiet ring back cooling: This cooling method is to send the cooling medium (such as water) through the stationary ring back directly to the frictional end surface that needs to be cooled, and the cooling medium is not mixed with the working medium. This cooling method has a simple structure, a good effect, and a wide range of applicable temperatures. But its disadvantage is that

The hardness of cooling water is low, especially the sealing of high temperature medium. Because the hardness of water is high, scale will be generated on the shaft near the sealing end face, and the seal will fail. At the same time, it is necessary to prevent the cooling water from leaking out along the shaft extension end.

Peripheral cooling of stationary ring: In order to solve the problem of scale, the peripheral cooling of the stationary ring is adopted. This method prevents the cooling water from directly contacting the shaft or the bushing. This avoids the generation of scale on the shaft or bushing and also prevents the water edge. Axial atmospheric side leakage can reduce the cooling water quality, but its cooling effect is not as good as the static ring back cooling.
