Mechanical seal installation and use requirements

    Mechanical seal is a high-precision mechanical equipment component. Its service performance and service life have a great relationship with the host's operating conditions, precision and seal installation. Therefore, it must be installed and used in accordance with the following requirements:

I. Precautions before assembly

1. Correctly select the appropriate type of mechanical seal and material combination according to working conditions and host conditions;

2. When the mechanically sealed pump or other similar rotating machinery is installed, the axial axial movement of the rotor is ≤ 0.3mm

3, the installation of mechanical seal parts of the shaft (or shaft sleeve) must have a 3 × 10 ° chamfer, and a smooth transition, its roughness Ra ≤ 1.6.

4. The surface roughness (Ra≤1.6) of the shaft (or sleeve) where the mechanical seal is installed shall be ≤0.04mm, and the dimensional tolerance shall be h6.

5. The surface roughness of the contact portion between the sealing end cap and the auxiliary seal ring for installing the mechanical seal static ring is Ra≤1.6, the dimensional tolerance is H8, and the vertical distance of the positioning end facing the shaft is ≤0.04mm.

6. When the mechanical seal is installed, the shaft (or sleeve) seal chamber, seal end cap and mechanical seal must be cleaned to prevent any impurities from entering the seal.

7. When installing a stationary ring, especially carbon graphite rings must be carefully pressed.

8, when the transmission medium temperature is too high, too low or contain foreign particles, flammable, explosive, toxic, etc., according to API682 standards to take appropriate measures such as blocking, washing, cooling, filtration.

9, according to the installation instructions or samples to ensure the installation of mechanical seal size.

10. The spring-driven mechanical seal should reasonably select the direction of the spring rotation, generally viewed from the motor end toward the impeller end. When the rotation axis is clockwise, the right-handed spring should be selected, and vice versa.

11. When the double-end mechanical seal works, the pressure of the isolation fluid is 0.05-0.2 MPa higher than the medium pressure in the seal cavity.

Second, assembly precautions

1, the assembly process should be carried out in a dry, dust-free, clean working environment, keep the sealed cavity parts and seals clean.

2. In order to reduce frictional resistance, apply a layer of clean lubricating oil or grease to the surface of the auxiliary seal during installation. However, care must be taken when using ethylene-propylene rubber as an auxiliary seal, do not contact with mineral oil or grease, and use water or soapy water to clean and lubricate;

4. The working height of the spring must reach the installation height shown in the product sample or assembly drawing.

5, in the installation process is strictly prohibited bump, hit the seal; the seal assembly is complete, but can not knock, hit the shaft, sleeve, seal the end cap, etc., so as to avoid mechanical seal friction pair damage and seal failure.

Third, the seal installation is complete, the device should be opened when the matters needing attention

1. The air in the sealed chamber must be exhausted, especially the double-face seal with the sealant. Attention should also be paid to exhaust air. When you drive again, you should first open the suction valve and wait for the liquid (medium) to enter the sealed chamber before starting the motor. For those with crystallized media, the crystals on the sealing surface, springs, and other related structural parts should be rinsed with a lotion before driving.

2. Before starting the equipment, check that the shaft resistance sensor is normally even and does not allow stuck phenomenon.

3, before the operation of the equipment, the sealed cavity must be filled with medium to maintain good lubrication, dry friction is strictly prohibited, resulting in seal failure.
